Momo:Promo – the Give Back Project live at the Alexandra Theatre

MOMO AT THE GIVEBACK PROJECT
POP VARIETY IN THE MIDLANDS, OCT'06

On Wednesday October 11, The Giveback Project unveiled its first show at the Alexander Theatre, Birmingham – and Momo:timo was behind the curtain as it lifted.

Accompanied by the Give Back Dancers, the giant electro thump of Sweetseeker made a lively start to this new talent initiative, spearheaded by Nicky Kemp of FRM and featuring some eighteen new groups and acts.

"It was a great opportunity to encourage some of the younger bands" said Tim afterwards. "Many of them work hard at gigging but a lot here are new to almost everything – and the Alex is a lovely old theatre to make your mark in. Plus, the dancers have really added to the show."

Sharing their combined West End and TV experience, choriographers Gemma Stoddard, Stacey Gaunt and Vanessa Lee Hicks helped the young group through tight routines to two of Momo's pieces, which also included Metrophilia.

"For me it was simply a fun night out in Birmingham with the chance to make some new musical friends" added Tim. "And best comment of the night? Someone came up to me in the auditorium afterwards and said I was really funny. So my work there was done."

Sadly, the photographic evidence is currently unavailable, but the Give Back team have been planning a follow up show at the NIA. More news to come.
